Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions relate to the purchase of merchandise, the making of a donation, and the signing up to an Individual Sponsorship subscription through our online e-commerce shop.

Please read this in conjunction with our Privacy Policy as this forms part of the Terms & Conditions.

Merchandise

1. We currently don’t have any merchandise on the shop. When we do, we will update this section.

One-Off Donations

1. Donations are made through a one-off charge to your debit or credit card.
2. Your details will not be used for any other purpose (specifically we pledge not to contact you for another donation, unless you also sign up to our Mailing List when you may receive generic email campaigns which are not targeted to you).
3. You acknowledge that you are making your Donation entirely voluntarily, without any pressure on you from us, or any third party, so to do.
4. Donations are not refundable.
5. One-Off Donations do not bring any additional benefits. 

Individual Sponsorship

1. Individual Sponsorship Packages are Donations which are made through a charge to your debit or credit card. When you take an Individual Sponsorship Package you are setting up a “subscription” to Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus which will renew annually on the anniversary of your original purchase.
2. You can cancel the renewal at any time, and your sponsorship (with its associated benefits) will continue up until the renewal date, upon which it will not be renewed. If you cancel and do not wish to continue with the benefits, you may do so by emailing us, but you will not receive any refund.
3. The website software which runs the subscription system unfortunately does not automatically send a reminder before your subscription renews. Because of this, when the renewal happens we give you the right to contact us up to 30 days afterwards to say that you have decided not to continue with the subscription. We will gladly cancel your subscription and refund you the money. In this case you will not be eligible to receive any further benefits, and we reserve the right to refuse a refund if you have used any benefits within that 30 day period, or to pro-rata the refund accordingly.
4. Individual Sponsorship Packages receive a number of benefits, depending on the level chosen. These are set out on our Become A Sponsor page. Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus reserves the right to alter these without notice, but existing Individual Sponsorship Packages will never lose benefits. 
5. There are no cash alternatives to the benefits offered through an Individual Sponsorship Package.
6. Complementary ticket and discounted ticket benefits are only offered on “end of season” shows produced by Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus.
7. We typically produce three “end of season” shows per year, in Spring, Summer and Winter. Should we not put on a show, for whatever reason (including cancellations), no refunds or alternative benefits will be offered.
8. Complementary ticket allocations are offered per show, and if not used they will not be carried forward to the next show, nor any alternative benefits offered.
9. Complementary tickets and discounted tickets are subject to availability. Ticket sales are always on a “first come first served” basis, and cannot be reserved in advance. To avoid disappointment, please ensure that you book your tickets early. We will not be able to honour your ticket allocation if the show is sold out.
10. Complementary tickets may be gifted to a third party, but they must be purchased by the holder of the Individual Sponsorship Package.
11. Complementary tickets and discounted tickets are offered through the use of a special “Coupon Code”, which must be entered in the appropriate field at the checkout.
    1. For purchases made through Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus’ own Ticket website, this code is unique to you and tied to the email address which you gave us when purchasing your Individual Sponsorship Package.
    2. Coupon Codes cannot be applied retrospectively to an existing order and it is solely your responsibility to ensure that you enter the code when placing the order.
    3. Where tickets are sold through other platforms at the same time as on Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus’ own Ticket website, complementary tickets and discounted tickets will only be made available through Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus’ own Ticket website.
    4. Coupon Codes for other ticketing platforms (eg, the Brighton Dome or Theatre Royal) may have other Terms & Conditions, and these will be advised when we begin promotion of that show.
    5. Coupon Codes may not be used at the same time as any other codes, discounts or offers which Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus may make available.

Gift Aid

Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus has signed up for the government’s Gift Aid Scheme, whereby for each Donation which you make to the Chorus, we are able to claim an additional 25% from HMRC, at no additional cost to you.

1. To allow us to claim Gift Aid, tick the Yes, please add Gift Aid to my donation checkbox in the Gift Aid panel on the checkout screen.
2. By ticking this box you confirm that you agree that you wish Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus to benefit from Gift Aid legislation. You confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and have paid or will pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax that is at least equal to the amount reclaimed on ALL your Gift Aid donations (not to just Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus) for each tax year. You understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. This declaration applies to all eligible donations you have made during the last 4-year period and until further notice.
3. Please let us know if you wish to cancel this declaration, change your home address, or you no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
