Retro clad revellers flocked to the Duke of York’s cinema for the Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus’ presentation of Sing-a-Long-a Grease on Saturday 1st October 2011, adding over £300 to the charity’s funds.

The crowd of T-birds and Pink Ladies raised the rafters with the rock’n’roll sound of the fifties as we joined in with the film’s hit songs including The One That I Want, Summer Nights and We Go Together.

The audience were helped through the songs by the chorus boys who were scattered around the auditorium.

The night’s Sing-a-Long-a productions host kicked off with a fancy dress competition, won by a rather ravishing Rizzo and a simpering Sandy in her cheerleading outfit, before guiding us through the finer points of the film’s choreography.

Armed with a prop bag we used our hankies to sob openly along with the hopelessly devoted Sandy, released our own blue moons, started the race at thunder road with our gold flags and covered the cinema in streamers when Danny and Sandy finally get it together.

More photos from the night have been uploaded to Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus’s Facebook page.
