Sunday 11th December 2011 saw Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus take to the stage of the Brighton Dome Concert Hall for our biggest show to date. We were joined on stage by the award winning comedienne Zoe Lyons, cabaret artiste Lorraine Bowen and talented vocalist Jodie Spencer, not forgetting our very special guest, June Brown, star of stage, screen and television, and best-known for her role as Dot in BBC1’s EastEnders.
The evening was in support of the Sussex Beacon Emergency Appeal, with every ticket purchased providing not only priceless entertainment, but will also helped two fantastic causes (Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus is also a registered charity). The exact amount raised on the night is still being tallied, and will be announced shortly – watch this space!

It was a magical evening and judging by the rapturous applause and standing ovation at the end that was a feeling shared by everyone there. Just brilliant!

A combination of factors made the Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus show special: the joyful smiles of the performers, who were clearly having the time of their lives; the varied arrangements bringing out different rhythms in their songs; and the response of the audience, who packed out the Dome and came ready to laugh, applaud, wolf-whistle and raise the roof when invited to sing along.
